Road closed during road construction in Kandiyohi

KANDIYOHI - A detour on Kandiyohi County Road 8 in the city of Kandiyohi began this week and will last through the end of May as crews work on a major utility and road construction project.
The construction zone extends from Atlantic Avenue to north of the city limits.
According to the Kandiyohi County Public Works Department, through traffic will be diverted west on U.S. Highway 12, north on County Road 9 and east on County Road 26.
City of Kandiyohi residents will have access to Highway 12 during this phase of construction, but residents will not be able to access their homes from the north.
When the project area shifts to the area near the railroad tracks, a revised access route for local residents will be announced.
Duininck Inc. of Prinsburg is the prime contractor for the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of May.
