MONTEVIDEO -- Robert Gorres, 63, of Montevideo died Thursday at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Arrangements are with Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo.
He was born March 11, 1942, in Wanda to LaVerne and Margaret (Kavanagh) Gorres. He owned a shoe repair business in Benson, and then moved to Marshfield, Wis., to continue in the shoe business. He moved to Alexandria and worked for Kalpin's Boot & Saddle and Wal-Mart. He moved to Montevideo in 2001.

He is survived by his siblings: Jerome (and Annette) Gorres of Montevideo, Tom (and Rita) Gorres of Benson, Marge Donahue, Delores (and Bernie) Stark, and Joan Collins, all of Montevideo.
He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
