HECTOR -- Robert Henry Koenig, 80, of Hector died Sunday at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake. Burial will be at Zion Evangelical Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.
He was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Martinsburg Township, Renville County, to Henry and Grace (Burgstahler) Koenig. He attended country school in Martinsburg Township and graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1943. He worked in a sales position for Brookfield Seed Company in South Dakota.

He married Marjorie Hansen on Sept. 9, 1949, in Dassel. He farmed and flew small planes with his cousin. He worked for Buffalo Lake Schools in the 1960s, and drove school bus and was a janitor. He worked as a sampler, tractor driver, vinery workers and field representative for Green Giant Company. He retired in 1988 and farmed.
He is survived by his children: Lynn (and Bruce) Krejci of Lakeville, Mark (and Ann) Koenig of Buffalo Lake, Bradley Koenig and Alan Koenig, both of Hector; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1967; one sister and one brother.
