GRANITE FALLS -- Robert Heath Lovell, 96, of Granite Falls died Tuesday at the Granite Falls Hospital.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Granite Falls City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls.
He was born April 12, 1911, to Frank and Marie (Heath) Lovell, in Milwaukee, Wis. He attended Riverside High School in Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

He married Shirley Russell on June 13, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He was a major. He worked as a manager for the co-op store in Lake Park and then a case worker at Bagley for about five years. In 1956, he moved to Granite Falls where he was employed with Yellow Medicine County as the director of Family Services.
He served two terms on the city council, and was president of the Granite Falls Lutheran Church. He also was a member of the Kiwanis, Boy Scouts of America, the Granite Falls American Legion and the Granite Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his son: Robert (and Sharon) Lovell of Apple Valley; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
