OLIVIA -- Robert Leo Lippert, 76, of Olivia died Friday at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island. Burial will be at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Olivia.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 5:45 p.m., at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Bird Island and from noon to 1:15 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Renville County Hospice.

He was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Roseland Township, Kandiyohi County, to Louis and Lillian (Tatting) Lippert. He attended school at District 64 in Blomkest and St. Aloysius School in Olivia. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1952 and was stationed at Camp Rucker, Ala. He returned home.

He married Mary Ann Harrier on Nov. 14, 1953. He farmed with two of his brothers until 1980 and continued farming until 1992. They moved into Olivia in 1989.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia.

He is survived by his wife; three children: Deb (and John) O'Connell of Tucson, Ariz., Mark (and Jackie) Lippert of Willmar, Paul Lippert (and Elizabeth Mortenson) of Blomkest; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers: Don (and Valora) Lippert of Olivia, Dick Lippert of Spokane, Wash., Roger (and Dorothy) Lippert of Willmar, Tom (and Gloria) Lippert of Vancouver, Wash.; and two sisters: Dorothy Dobmeier of Renville and Pat Thein of Clara City.

He was preceded in death by one sister.
