ABERDEEN, WASH. -- Robert Raymond "Bob" Torgerson, 82, of Aberdeen, Wash., formerly of Willmar, died Saturday at Grays Harbor Health & Rehab.

The service will be at noon Wednesday at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.

Arrangements are with Whiteside Family Mortuary in Aberdeen.

He was born March 9, 1924, in Annandale to Raymond and Mary (Schneiderham) Torgerson. He graduated from Willmar High School. He attended Harvard University and then enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant and flew P-51s from Iwo Jima to Japan.

He married Audre' Hoglund after the war. He served as a city alderman and was a member of the Willmar City Charter Commission. Audre' died in 1985. He lived in Montana for 10 years, Arizona for 25, and moved to the state of Washington in 1995. He married Arlene Jorgensen in 1996, in Aberdeen.

He was an honorary lifetime member of the Willmar Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife; sons Scott (and Peggy) of Port Ludlow, Wash., Bruce (and Cathy) of Tracys Landing, Md., Ross (and Kris) of Rochester, Ted (and Terry) of St. Louis, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
