STARBUCK -- Robert Wayne "Bob" Johnston, 73, of Starbuck died July 8 at Glacial Ridge Health Systems in Glenwood.
Visitation services will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck.
He was born March 13, 1935, in Minneapolis to Zeno and Susan (Sedjo) Johnston. He grew up and attended school in Minneapolis. Then he attended one year of technical college. He lived and worked in various places after his schooling, San Gabriel, Arcadia and Duarte, California, Starbuck and Glenwood. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as an interpreter and barber.
He married Marilyn DeQuattro on June 21, 1958. They lived in Starbuck. Then they moved to the lake in Glenwood. He was employed by Douglas Machine in Alexandria, for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the American Umpire League and Golfers Association.

He is survived by his wife; children: Greg (and Stacey) Johnston of Princeton, Todd (and Dawn) Johnston of Crookston, Heather Johnston of St. Louis, Mo., Bonnie Johnston of Minneapolis; five grandchildren; siblings: Bruce (and Mickey) Johnston of Champlin, Jerry Johnston of Minneapolis and Caroline (and Dick) Shuda of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
