Ronald J. Hellen

GLENWOOD -- Ronald James Hellen, 64, of Starbuck died Wednesday at the Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at All Saints Chapel at the Glenwood Retirement Village.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Arrangements are with Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood.

He was born May 1, 1941, in Boston to Thomas and Alice (O'Day) Hellen. He graduated from high school in Boston. He entered the armed services in 1958 and served until 1967. He worked for the government as a civilian in Germany for 37 years.
He married Luane Dostal on July 21, 2000. They lived in Homestead, Fla. They moved to Starbuck in 2005.
He was a member of Fron Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife; children: Ronald Jr., Susan Gerlach, Virginia Rose; stepson: Wayne (and Ann) Combs; five grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
