WILLMAR -- Ronald W. Jacobson, 58, of Willmar died Monday at his home.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial, with military honors by American Legion Post 167 and VFW Post 1639, will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

He was born Sept. 6, 1948, in Minneapolis to Harold and Myrtle (Westby) Jacobson. He graduated from Willmar High School in 1967. He entered the U.S. Army and served two tours during the Vietnam War. He received many medals and commendations. He was discharged with full disability and attended Willmar Vo-Tech.

He married Wilma McMahon on June 18, 1988. They lived near Nest Lake and moved to Willmar in 1995.

He was a member of Vietnam Vet's Club-Last Man's Club, past commander, current post chaplin and district chaplin of VFW Post 1639, American Legion Post 167, DAV-West Central Chapter 34, Willmar Elks Lodge 952, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2234, Kandiyohi County Red Cross Disaster Team, and ham radio operators. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America., received several awards, and a 30-year service pin.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar where he had served as an usher.

He is survived by his wife; and two sisters: Linda Theessen of Mankato, and Bonnie (and Dave Cleveland) Ringwelski of Warner Robbins, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers in infancy, and one sister.
