Various internet reports Monday night placed Denver Broncos tight ends coach Tim Brewster in the University of Minnesota head football coaching job.
Both ESPN.com and the Chicago Tribune web site reported Brewster was hired to take over for the fired Glen Mason.
But the news was quickly refuted by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, which on its web site quoted three University of Minnesota sources, including athletic director Joel Maturi, denying the report.
