Rural Dawson man identified, body found in Lac qui Parle River

MADISON -- The death of a 51-year-old rural Dawson man whose body was found Saturday afternoon in the Lac qui Parle River is under investigation by the Lac qui Parle County Sheriff's Office.

MADISON - The death of a 51-year-old rural Dawson man whose body was found Saturday afternoon in the Lac qui Parle River is under investigation by the Lac qui Parle County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a news release from County Sheriff Rick Halvorson, James Patrick Como was reported missing on around 8 a.m. Saturday morning. A family member reported to the sheriff’s office that Como, who lived northwest of Dawson, was last seen during the early morning hours on Thursday.

A missing persons report was filed by the sheriff’s office and Como’s family and friends organized a search effort.

Como’s body was discovered around noon Saturday, in the river northwest of Dawson and was recovered by law enforcement.
