WILLMAR -- Russell Ferdinand Renstrom, 91, of Willmar died Tuesday at Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials preferred to Meals on Wheels or Vinje Lutheran Church.
He was born March 1, 1914, in Fahlun Township, Kandiyohi County, to Clarence and Elsie (Lundquist) Renstrom. He grew up and received his education in the Lake Lillian area.
He married Borghild Frieberg on Nov. 6, 1940, in Willmar. He served in the U.S. Army for a short time at Ft. Snelling. Borghild died in 1944.
He married Margaret Boraas-Hovick on June 10, 1961. They lived in Willmar and he worked as a milkman for Central Dairy for over 40 years.
He was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He volunteered at Rice Hospital, the Kandiyohi County Historical Society, and delivered Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his wife; son: Thomas (and Kathy) Renstrom of Montgomery, N.Y.; stepdaughter: Patricia (and Mac) Binger of Big Arm, Mont.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers: Earl Renstrom of Minneapolis, Clifford Renstrom of Willmar, Franklin (and Maxine) Renstrom of Palm Springs, Calif.; three half brothers: Donald (and Blanche) Renstrom of Brooklyn Park, Pally (and Faye) Renstrom of Crystal, Allen (and Gayle) Renstrom of Annandale; and two half sisters: Shirley Blaisdell and Bonnie (and Chuck) Enfield, all of St. Michael.
He was preceded in death by his first wife.
