WILLMAR -- Ruth Lillian Jensen, 95, of Willmar died Thursday at Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Evangelical Free Church in Willmar. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kost Evangelical Cemetery in Kost, near North Branch.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to Evangelical Free Church in Willmar or Rice Hospice.

She was born Aug. 13, 1912, near North Branch to John and Sara (Johnson) Mattson. She grew up in the North Branch area and attended high school at the University of Minnesota.

She was a nurse at the Swedish Hospital and later received her bachelor's of science degree from the University of Minnesota. She became a supervisor for Swedish Hospital and also was an instructor.

She married John Jensen July 22, 1961, in Minneapolis. In 1970, she retired from 30 years of service at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. She later moved to Sunrise Village in Willmar and in January, she moved to Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home.

She was a member at the Evangelical Free Church in Kost, First Evangelical Free Church in Minneapolis, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church in Willmar at the time of her death; where she was in the White Cross and in the Super Seniors Group, started by her and John in 1979. She was also a member of the Nurses Christian Fellowship and Swedish Hospital Alumni.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, a brother and a sister.
