NEW LONDON -- Ruth Marion Buffington, 87, of New London died Friday at her son's home in rural New London.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Salem Cemetery in rural Comfrey.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

She was born March 5, 1920, in St. Paul to Rudolph and Lena (Rueger) Albrecht. She grew up in St. Paul and attended Adam School. She graduated in 1938 from Central High School in St. Paul.

She married Maurice L. Buffington on Dec. 4, 1940. They lived in the rural Comfrey area where they farmed. Maurice died on Jan. 13, 1963. In 1983, she moved to New London.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey. She was a current member of Peace Lutheran Church in New London, where she was in the Nazareth Circle and volunteered monthly for Christian Service Day.

She is survived by her children: Robert (and Joyce) of Bloomington, Diana (and Richard) Capaul of LeSueur, and William (and Debra) of New London; son-in-law: Larry Donnay; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter: Gail Donnay; four brothers; and three sisters.
