MADISON -- Ruth Mabel Johnson, 92, of Madison, formerly of Montevideo, died Friday at the Madison Lutheran Home in Madison.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was born on March 21, 1915, on the family farm in Camp Release Township, Lac qui Parle County, to Helmer and Gina (Jorgenson) Christianson. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural school in District 21.

She married Glen Mickle in 1936 in Montevideo. They moved to Spencer, Iowa. They moved back to Montevideo in 1942 and farmed. Glen died in 1970. Later she moved into Montevideo, where she was employed as a dietary aide at Luther Haven Nursing Home for 20 years.

She married Robert Johnson in 1987. They lived on Robert's farm and then moved to the Park Avenue Apartments in Madison. Robert died in 2001. She fell in June, was hospitalized and later placed in the Madison Lutheran Home.

She was a member of church circle.

She is survived by three children: DeWayne Mickle of Bloomington, Gary (and Elvern) Mickle of Hutchinson and Sandra Meyer of Spicer; six stepchildren: Roger Johnson of Lac qui Parle Village, Sandy Johnson of Richfield, Barb (and Dave) Warner of Edina, Loren (and Mary Kay) Johnson of Chanhassen, Rodney (and Christie) Johnson of Tenecula, Calif., and Joanne (and Terry) Yackel of Cedar; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Lillian Natzel of Richfield and Elva Thompson of Richfield.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; a son: Ronald; one grandson; a son-in-law, Gordon Meyer; one brother; and one sister.
