A Sacred Heart man was airlifted from the scene of a crash Saturday afternoon in southern Kandiyohi County.
David Benson, 32, of Sacred Heart, was driving a Ford pickup north on County Road at 210th Avenue Southwest and lost control on the ice-covered road when he attempted to pass another vehicle, according to a report from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
The vehicle overturned in the northbound ditch, and Benson was airlifted from the scene. Four passengers, unidentified in the report, were not injured. Everyone in the vehicle was properly restrained, according to the report. The vehicle being passed was not involved in the crash.
Assisting at the scene were Prinsburg Fire Department and first responders, Raymond Ambulance, Willmar Ambulance, North Memorial Air Care and the Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad.
