CHANHASSEN -- It's going to be a beautiful day to honor our veterans with highs around 46 and west winds from 8 to 14 mph in Willmar.

However, the National Weather Service in Chanhassen is forecasting the possibility of rain, snow and lower temperatures starting Friday and continuing into the weekend.

The local forecast includes a high around 44 degrees on Friday with a slight chance of rain and snow before noon. The slight chance of rain and snow continues Friday night with lows around 30.

The weather service shows a 30-percent chance of snow on Saturday with cloudy skies, highs near 38 and winds between 10 and 15 mph.

The snow possibility comes from a weather system over the Central Rockies that will lift northeast over the Central Plains. The system will bring a swath of rain possibly mixed with snow and some accumulating snows are possible over east central and south central Minnesota and west central Wisconsin by Sunday morning.
