FARGO (WDAY Radio) - Minnesota Congressman Collin Peterson got an up close and personal look at the dangers in Iraq this week.
Peterson and four congressional colleagues are in a band called the "Second Amendments". They're in the middle east performing a series of concerts for the troops.
Peterson tells WDAY Radio in Fargo that he was setting up equipment for a concert in Balad, Iraq yesterday when the area came under mortar attack.
He says five mortars were launched and one of them fell particularly close by causing a loud explosion.
He says sirens were going off and people were told to take cover.

Peterson says the attack caused the concert to start about an hour late.
Peterson's comments came from Islamabad, Pakistan where the congressional delegation is getting a look at the earthquake recovery efforts.
He says the "Second Amendments" will play two more concerts in Afghanistan this weekend before returning home.
