LAKE BENTON, Minn. -- A second body was recovered from the icy waters of sprawling Lake Benton in southwestern Minnesota on Saturday afternoon bringing to an end a grueling two-week long search for two people missing after their vehicle went into the lake while on an ice fishing outing.
Lincoln County Sheriff Chad Meester said the body of 55-year-old Brad Lund, a longtime and well-known farmer in the Lake Benton area, was pulled from the lake at about 3 p.m.

Divers, water boats and other high-technology tools from search and rescue teams from throughout the region were used during the search to find the bodies of the two missing residents.
The body of Lund’s girlfriend, Brianna Thooft, 29, was found last Saturday.
The vehicle was found in the water, with the windows open, a few days after the pair went missing on Feb. 1.
The sheriff said in a news release that “the family was notified and we ask for privacy to be respected at this time.”
