LAKE BENTON, Minn. -- A second body was recovered from the icy waters of sprawling Lake Benton in southwestern Minnesota on Saturday afternoon bringing to an end a grueling two-week long search for two people missing after their vehicle went into the lake while on an ice fishing outing.

Lincoln County Sheriff Chad Meester said the  body of 55-year-old Brad Lund, a longtime and well-known farmer in the Lake Benton area, was pulled from the lake at about 3 p.m.

Divers, water boats and other high-technology tools from search and rescue teams from throughout the region were used during the search to find the bodies of the two missing residents.

The body of Lundโ€™s girlfriend, Brianna Thooft, 29, was found last Saturday.

The vehicle was found in the water, with the windows open, a few days after the pair went missing on Feb. 1.

The sheriff said in a news release that โ€œthe family was notified and we ask for privacy to be respected at this time.โ€
