BROOTEN -- Selma Johanna Westrud, 94, Brooten died Wednesday at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sunburg Free Lutheran Church in rural Sunburg. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Chapel in Brooten.
She was born Jan. 30, 1912, in Kandiyohi County to Engebret and Emma (Christianson) Johnson. She grew up on a farm in rural Sunburg and attended country school through the eighth grade.

She married Albin Westrud on April 11, 1932. They farmed near Lake Johanna and then moved to Minneapolis in 1951. She was a homemaker. They moved to Sedan in 1970, and later to Brooten. She moved to the Belgrade Nursing Home in 2004.
She was a member of the Sedan Senior Citizens for many years.
She is survived by her son: Jim (and Stacy) Westrud of St. Louis Park; daughters-in-law: Pat Westrud, Kathy Westrud, Carol Westrud, all of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons: DeWayne, Harold, Larry; two brothers and six sisters.
