BROOTEN - Stearns County Road 18 was closed for about four hours Thursday after a semi hauling sweet corn ran off the road.
The tractor-trailer - driven by Steven Ramirez, 22, of Belgrade - ran off the road just after 5 p.m. about three miles south of Brooten. Ramirez was uninjured.
The 2001 International was traveling north and went into the east ditch, coming to rest in a swamp, according to a report from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
The truck sustained minimal damage, but lost about half its load, causing the road to close for the evening.
