BROOTEN -- A section of Stearns County Road 18 was closed for about four hours Thursday after a semi hauling sweet corn ran off the road.

A tractor-trailer driven by Steven Ramirez, 22, of Belgrade ran off the road just after 5 p.m. about three miles south of Brooten. Ramirez was uninjured.

The 2001 International was traveling north and went into the east ditch, coming to rest in a swamp, according to a report from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck sustained minimal damage, but it lost about half its load and caused the road closing.
