The Senate District 14 race is a re-run of the 2000 matchup of Republican incumbent Michelle Fischbach and Democratic challenger Mike Sharp. This Senate district includes the towns of Paynesville and Eden Valley and other townships in Stearns and Benton counties.
Sharp is from Fairhaven. He is an academic advisor at St. Cloud State University and is an anti-war protestor. Fischbach from Paynesville is better political fit for this conservative district. She is also a leader in the Senate Republican minority.
We endorse Fischbach for re-election in Senate 14.
