Senate 20 is a race between Democrat incumbent Gary Kubly and Republican challenger Gregg Kulberg.
Kulberg is a Hector native. He worked first as an agricultural loan officer, then for an electrical company serving utility company and then as a boat works company manager. He now works in family farm partnership. He is a conservative advocating cuts to balance the state budget.
Kubly is a pastor from Granite Falls. He served three terms in the House before being elected to the Senate in 2002. His priorities include job growth in rural Minnesota and maintaining the state's education system. He collaborates well with other legislatures working for the district and region.
