Seven escape from Cottage Grove house fire late Sunday

COTTAGE GROVE - Seven people escaped a fire late Sunday that left one Cottage Grove home a total loss and damaged two neighboring properties.
Firefighters were called at 11:55 p.m. to a fire at 8887 91st St. When the first crews arrived nine minutes later, fire was visible from the garage and along the roof line, fire Chief Rick Redenius said. They began extinguishing the fire from the outside because of the heavy flames present.
There were seven residents in the home, but all escaped without any injuries.
The home is expected to be a total loss, Redenius said.
