BUFFALO LAKE -- Sharon Violet Niles, 67, of Buffalo Lake died Tuesday at the Birchwood Hospice in Hutchinson.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake. Burial will be at the Zion Evangelical Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Jan. 10, 1941, in Hector Township, Renville County, to Harold and Violet (Fluck) Leske. She grew up in Buffalo Lake. She graduated in 1949 from Buffalo Lake High School. She worked as a secretary at the Hector High School for one year.
She married Orlin Niles on Aug. 7, 1961, in Buffalo Lake. They lived in Chicago for more than a year before returning to Buffalo Lake. They lived in Cosmos from 1976 to 1992 where she did daycare services in her home for a few years. Orlin died in 1992. She returned to Buffalo Lake in 1992. She worked recently at her son's tanning salon.

She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake where she sang in the church choir and was the cradle roll coordinator for many years. She was involved in a grief counseling support group for several years after her husband's death. She was a member of the Cosmos Women's Club.
She is survived by her children: Todd Niles of Hutchinson, Laurie Kessler of Hector, James Niles of Hector, Jody (and James) McLean of Rochester; seven grandchildren; her mother of Buffalo Lake; siblings: Kathy Godejahn of Buffalo Lake, Judy (and Clarence) Washburn of Hector, Richard (and Lyn) Leske of Buffalo Lake, Sheldon (and Brenda) Leske of Buffalo Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband and father.
