DASSEL -- The Dassel Fire Department responded to a machine shed fire early Friday morning along Meeker County Road 15 near Dassel.
Around 1:30 a.m., Joshua Paul Rix, 24, of Hutchinson was traveling along the road when he passed a farm and could smell smoke. According to a news release from the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Rix saw the shed on fire and drove to the home near the shed and informed the owners.
The Sheriff's Department and Fire Department were then called to the scene along the 18400 block of County Road 15. The fire was later extinguished.
According to the release, damage to the shed was estimated between $15,000 and $20,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.
