WILLMAR -- Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog said his department has some leads into the investigation of six cow heads found Wednesday in a ditch in the 14000 block of 210th Avenue Northeast near Hawick.

WILLMAR -- Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog said his department has some leads into the investigation of six cow heads found Wednesday in a ditch in the 14000 block of 210th Avenue Northeast near Hawick.

Hartog said Friday the Sheriff's Department received information regarding the cow heads. Hartog said a caller stated that he knew where the cow heads had come from and that the livestock had not been stolen.

"We have some leads and we are following up, and we're just completing the investigation,'' he said. "At this point we're just putting the reports together.''

The information will be filed with the court sometime next week and will result in a ticket and not a formal complaint being filed, he said. Hartog wouldn't say how many individuals were involved.

He did want the public to know that the livestock had not been stolen nor used in a satanic ritual.
