The Stearns County Sheriff’s Department is urging anglers on Lake Koronis to use extra caution when driving near the point by Crestland Drive in Paynesville Township near the Second Island. A pickup truck broke through the ice there up to its wheels at 12:04 a.m. on Saturday. Both occupants evacuated the truck safely.
This is the second vehicle to have gone through the ice in this location recently, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Department and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources responded to the incident.
