OLIVIA -- Shirley Mae Kubesh, 79, of Olivia died Thursday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born June 3, 1928, in Hector to Ray and Dorothy (Osborne) Emerson. She attended school in Hector and then Olivia after her family moved. She then worked for local restaurants for several years.
She married Benjamin Kubesh on June 3, 1949. They lived and farmed south of Olivia. She was also a homemaker. In 1988, they retired into town.

She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She was a member of a bowling league for many years.
She is survived by her husband; five children: Douglas (and Carol) Kubesh of Brainerd, Nancy Haney (and special-friend, David Olson) of Willmar, Jean (and Gary) Lingl of Willmar, Craig (and Pam) Kubesh of Olivia, and Robert Kubesh of Pequot Lakes; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Lois (and Rick) Nelson of Rochester and Diana Guetter (and special-friend, Tom Roozen) of Mankato.
She was preceded in death by her daughter: Joan; and two sisters.
