Shirley Molnau

WILLMAR -- Shirley Arlene Molnau, 67, of Willmar, died Friday at Rice Memorial Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Vinje Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born on June 27, 1938, in Belle Plaine to Elmer and Mildred (Petersen) Erickson. She grew up in Belle Plaine and graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1956 as Salutatorian. On Sept. 1, 1956, she married Dr. DuWayne E. Molnau and they lived in Minneapolis. In 1961, they moved to Willmar where Shirley was employed as a district manager for Avon for many years. She later owned and operated The Fragrance Shoppe in the Kandi Mall until 2004. She was an active member of Vinje Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was involved in various womens groups. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She is survived by her four children: Janet Molnau of Columbia, S.C., Jodi (and Mark) Anderson of Minnetonka, Julie (and David) Hahn of Savage and Wade (and Theresa) Molnau of Chandler, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters: Carol (and Harley) Muller of Coon Rapids, Darlene (and Michael) Devine of Circle Pines and Sharon (and Dennis) Goehring of Atwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband DuWayne in 1995; and one grandson.
