NEW LONDON -- A special muzzleloader hunt held last weekend in Sibley State Park fell short of harvesting the number of deer desired.
A total of 15 does were registered by the 43 hunters who participated in the special, two-day hunt, the park reported.
The park had hoped to see 20 does taken. The special hunt was limited to the taking of anterless deer.
The park has been hosting the special muzzleloader seasons to help manage a large deer population.
