GLENWOOD -- Teri Paulzine and Casie Rust combined on a no-hitter Friday as Minnewaska Area blanked Brandon-Evansville 4-0 in a non-conference softball game.
Paulzine pitched the first four innings and also returned to record the final two outs of the game after Rust pitched 11/3 innings of relief and got into a little trouble by walking five batters. Paulzine, who recorded the win, walked none and struck out five. Rust struck out three.
The Lakers (1-0), who managed only five hits, got run-scoring singles from Laura Tvrdik and Ashley Olson.

Hilary Groothuis struck out 11 while giving up only two hits in her complete-game victory for MACCRAY (1-0).
The Wolverines sent nine batters to the plate in the fourth inning and came away with five runs. Destiny VanDeRiet highlighted the inning with a two-run double. Breanna Krueger capped the scoring with an RBI single in the fifth.
Cheri Fjermestad hit a sacrifice fly and Ashley Vikander singled in a run for Yellow Medicine East (0-1), which made seven errors.
