Southwest Minn. cities, counties looking for hands at the ready

A partnership involving Granite Falls and Marshall and Chippewa, Lyon, and Yellow Medicine counties along with the Avera Health system is looking for volunteers who would be at the ready to help as the need arises in future weeks.

GRANITE FALLS — The cities of Granite Falls and Marshall, along with Lyon, Yellow Medicine, and Chippewa counties and the Avera Health system and others are continuing to partner and are asking for help in meeting health care needs.

In an effort to be prepared to respond as COVID-19 spreads, the partners are asking residents to consider signing up to volunteer when the need arises. Opportunities will be related to COVID-19 and may include, but are not limited to the following: transportation assistance, security assistance and also checkpoint assistance.

The partners in their announcement sy they want to be proactive in creating a database of people in the southwest Minnesota region that could be called upon.

Those interested in signing up to volunteer should please provide information in a Google form at https://tinyurl.com/v63rudg and the partners will reach out if volunteer assistance is needed.
