MANKATO -- The Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council encourages young people wishing to enhance their leadership skills and add unique experiences to their resumes to apply for the 2011 Minnesota Soybean Ambassador program.
Minnesota Soybean Ambassadors attend the Minnesota Ag Ambassador Institute and provide assistance to Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council staff and farmers at a variety of events throughout the year. Required activities include Farmfest, "Soybean Day" at the State Fair and Ag Expo/ Minnesota Soybean Growers Annual Meeting. Each ambassador is awarded a $2,000 scholarship and has the chance to earn two additional stipends of $250 each.
Applications for the 2011 Minnesota Soybean Ambassador program must be postmarked by March 1 to be eligible for final consideration. Candidates will be contacted for interviews and new Ambassadors will be selected by May 1. More information and applications have been posted at www.mnsoybean.org .
