WILLMAR -- Magali Runyan, 81, of Willmar was in good condition at Rice Hospital Friday evening after being injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon.
Authorities responded to 18 crashes in Willmar from Tuesday noon through early Thursday evening.
Speed and inadequate scraping of icy windows contributed to a number of the crashes, said Willmar Police Officer Marilee Dorn.
Two of the crashes led to injuries.
Thursday afternoon, vehicles driven by Nikki Hanson, 19, of Boyd and Runyan collided at the entrance to Regency Estates West and County Road 5. Hanson's vehicle was southbound. Runyan drove around another vehicle waiting to turn left and made a left turn in front of Hanson's vehicle, according to the accident report. Runyan was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
