Spicer man pleads guilty to criminal sexual conduct

WILLMAR -- A 29-year-old Spicer man alleged to have sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl pleaded guilty Tuesday to a felony charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Nickolas Steven Neal also faces a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, which will be dismissed as part of Tuesday’s plea agreement. Neal is scheduled for sentencing July 27.
According to the criminal complaint on the charges, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office received report of the incident in October from the girl’s mother.
During an interview with law enforcement, the 9-year-old girl reportedly said Neal sexually assaulted her while she was visiting Neal’s residence.
Neal allegedly inappropriately touched the girl and made sexual advances toward the girl while she was watching TV in the living room, thinking the girl was asleep. The girl reportedly went to a different room of the residence, locked the door and contacted her mother about the incident, according to the criminal complaint
