WILLMAR -- Adam Lee Norstedt, 22, of Spicer, made his first appearance Thursday on felony charges of burglary and theft for allegedly burglarizing a rural Willmar home and stealing a new pickup, which he was caught driving in Missouri.
Unconditional bail was set at $50,000. His next appearance is July 7.
Norstedt also faces a misdemeanor theft charge in the case.
According to the complaint, on April 5, 2010, a rural Willmar resident reported to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office that someone had entered his home and took items from within. A 2010 Toyota pickup, valued at $32,000, was missing, along with a GPS unit and other items left in the vehicle.
Two days later, local officials were notified by the Missouri State Highway Patrol that the stolen vehicle had been recovered and that Norstedt was taken into custody when a trooper stopped the pickup.

Missouri officials also informed local officials that they had interviewed Norstedt and that he had allegedly confessed to breaking into the home and taking the pickup. He said he had walked away from a group home and walked until he got to the home where the pickup was missing.
A group home in Willmar confirmed Norstedt had been processed out on April 5, 2010.
