St. Cloud and Rochester will split host duties for the Star of the North Games begining in 2009 through at least 2017.
The two sites will alternate every other June, except 2013 when the games will be in St. Paul.
The six-day event draws about 15,000 visitors to a host site. Facilities at colleges, universities and schools are used for competition.
The Games began at St. Cloud in 1988.
