HECTOR -- Stanley Emmanuel Swanson, 94, of Hector died Sunday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Hector. Burial will be in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
He was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Tiskilwa, Ill., to Claus and Hannah (Gustafson) Swanson. They moved to Martinsburg Township, Renville County, where he grew up and attended rural school.

He married Opal Lind on Sept. 27, 1941, in Palmyra Township, rural Hector. They lived and farmed in Martinsburg Township. Opal died in 1999. He retired and moved to Prairie View in Hector. He moved this year to the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hector.
He is survived by his daughter: Kathryn Peris of Hector; son: Dwight Swanson (and special friend Anne Denelsbeck) of Hector; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and two sisters, including one in infancy.
