The boys and girls state cross country meet will be held today at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
The Willmar boys, ranked No. 1 in Class AA, are the defending champions. Kaafi Adeys was fourth in Class AA individually last season. Abdi Awale was sixth.
Nikki Swenson, a senior from Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd, won the Class A girls' title in 2003 and was second each of the past two seasons, returns. She is ranked No. 1 in Class A.
The Lakeville North girls are the defending Class AA champions, while St. Cloud Cathedral and Adrian are defending champs for Class A boys and girls, respectively.
The Class A boys begin at 10 a.m., the Class A girls at 11 a.m., the Class AA boys at 1 p.m. and the Class AA girls at 2 p.m.
