OLIVIA - The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic accident reported shortly after 5 p.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 71 south of Olivia.
Details about the accident and who died had not been released as of press deadline.
According to the early report available on the Patrol’s public information website, the Belgrade man driving a 2012 Peterbilt tractor involved in the two-vehicle accident was uninjured, while a passenger in the other vehicle suffered what the Patrol termed non-life-threatening injuries.
The report says Preston M. Kuefler, 25, was driving the semi, and Courtney E. Fisher, 21, of Tucson, Ariz., was a passenger in the other vehicle. No information was yet available about where Fisher was being treated for her injuries.
The other vehicle was a 2013 Ford pickup. No information had yet been posted on the public information website regarding the driver of that vehicle.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. Information about ambulance response was not available in the early report.

Editor's note: This early version of the story was based on preliminary information from the State Patrol, which the Patrol has since updated to correct that Fisher was a passenger in the pickup. Corrections have been made here, but a more complete story based on the most recent information available from the Patrol has been posted here .
