The State Wrestling Tournament begins today and runs through Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City in Class A and BOLD/Buffalo Lake-Hector in Class AA represent the area in the team portion of the tournament.
There are 53 area wrestlers competing individually, including defending state champion Sean Glenz of Paynesville at 152 pounds and state runner-ups Kevin Steinhaus of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg at 130 pounds, Beau Penk of Litchfield at 135 pounds and Joel Kerzman of Paynesville at 145.
