LITCHFIELD -- A suspect was arrested Saturday for allegedly committing two different burglaries in Litchfield.

The suspect, a 16-year-old male, faces pending burglary, assault and controlled substance charges, according to a press release from the Litchfield Police Department.

The Litchfield Police Department and Meeker County Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary alarm Saturday at a business on North Sibley Avenue.

The door of the building had reportedly been forced open and officers observed movement inside the business.

A short time later, the suspect exited the business and allegedly charged at a Meeker County deputy who was watching the door. After continuing to be combative with the deputy, he was eventually arrested, according to the press release.

Further investigation determined that the suspect had also previously entered a vehicle and garage on North Gilman Avenue, stealing prescription medication and other miscellaneous items.

A deputy involved in the incident sustained minor injuries as a result of the arrest.
