RAYMOND - A 10-year-old boy and an 18-year-old male are suspects in a rash of car break-ins in Raymond.
According to a news release from Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog, the Sheriff’s Office received a call shortly after midnight Tuesday that a vehicle on First Avenue South in Raymond was found with its doors open and items removed.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they followed footprints in the snow that led away from the vehicle and found two individuals that were leaving another vehicle they had just rummaged through in the northwest part of town.
According to Hartog, the suspects - who are both from Raymond - were cooperative and showed deputies where they had tampered with 18 vehicles. They had entered 10 of those vehicles and stolen items from seven of them.
The suspects also are reported to have entered an unattached garage and taken change from a vehicle parked there.
