BENSON -- The Swift County Board of Commissioners made two key personnel decisions at the regular meeting Tuesday.
First, the county board directed the Swift County Rural Development Authority board to recruit and hire a full-time executive director, according to Dick Hanson, county commissioner from Clontarf.
Second, the consensus from county board is to hire a county coordinator or administrator at some point in the future, Hanson said. The board decided Tuesday that more time is needed to analyze the county's needs and expectations for the position.
There is no timetable set for the analysis and on-going process to determine what the position will look like. In the meantime, Auditor Byron Giese has agreed to do work of the county administrator, Hanson said.
The two jobs have been vacant since last fall when County Administrator John Chattin resigned to become city administrator for Bemidji and RDA director Sue Pirsig resigned to become the economic development director in Jackson.
