WILLMAR -- Fergus Falls looked every bit the defending Central Lakes Conference champion on Thursday, ambushing Willmar 102.5-78.5.
Willmar managed two swim wins: Sarah Hund in the 200 freestyle (2:10.35) and Alissa Tinklenberg in the 100 backstroke (1:02.42), in a close race with Kari Fisher of Fergus. (Willmar's win in the concluding 400 relay was uncontested).
The Cardinals outscored Fergus 13-0 in diving. Alicia Alvarado scored 160.4, while Beth Pollock and Brooke Feichtinger tied for second at 155.4.
Tinklenberg came within a half-second of breaking Dana Guetter's two-year-old school record in the individual medley, swimming a 2:20.42, still second to Fisher's 1:18.1.
