ALEXANDRIA -- The Willmar Cardinals won three events and placed fifth in the Central Lakes Conference swimming and diving meet for a second straight year.
Freshman Alissa Tinklenberg won both the 200 freestyle (2:01.58) and the 500 freestyle (5:31.45), after placing second in both races in 2005. She also swam the last leg on the first-place 200 freestyle relay (1:42.95) with Mary Morris, Aleasha Blokzyl and Sarah Hund.
Fergus Falls, last year's runner-up to Brainerd, won the title this time by a wide marching, 467-312 for second-place Alexandria.
Morris, a senior, took third in 200 individual medley (2:25.04) and seventh in the 100 freestyle (57.90). Morris, Sarah Frank, Hund and Tinklenberg churned to third place in the 400-freestyle relay. Beth Pollock in eighth led three Cardinal divers.
