ALEXANDRIA -- The Willmar Cardinals were submarined by the Alexandria Cardinals in the first event and lost 95-91 to their Central Lakes Conference rival in the pool on Thursday.
"We were three seconds off our time on Tuesday (in the opening medley relay) and lost by less than a second," said Willmar coach Carl Shuldes. "That was an eight point swing right off the bat."
Willmar wasn't quite as sharp as Tuesday's two-point loss to Fergus Falls.
Willmar needed to got 1-3 in the final event but went 1-4.
Willmar's Andy Johnson won twice individually and swam on two winning relays.
