SAUK RAPIDS -- The Willmar Cardinals got off to a good start winning the first three events and went on to defeat Sauk Rapids 110-76 to improved to 5-2 in Central Lakes Conference swimming and diving on Thursday.
After the 200 medley relay took first by seven seconds, Andy Johnson won the 200 freestyle and Ben Saint the 200 individual medley. Willmar swimmers swept the first three spots in both the backstroke and the breaststroke.
Saturday is the Cardinals' invite invite with swimming at 1:30 p.m. The seven-team field includes Montevideo and Minnewaska/Morris.
